William Russell Price, born on January 25, 1965, peacefully passed away on July 13, 2023, at the comfort of his Home, surrounded by his beloved family and friends, after bravely fighting a long battle with cancer. He was 58 years old.
Russell, as he was affectionately known, was born in Martin County, North Carolina. Throughout his life, he dedicated himself to his work as an Electrical (PLC) Technician for 35 years at Weyerhaeuser Wood Products in Plymouth. His commitment and expertise in his field were highly regarded by his colleagues and peers.
Outside of work, Russell had a variety of interests that brought him joy. He was an All-American Harley Loving Guy who cherished his time riding motorcycles. He also found pleasure in gardening, exploring the world of science and physics, and immersing himself in the Star Wars universe. Russell had a knack for working with his hands, always eager to take on new projects and put his skills to good use.
Russell's educational journey included graduating from Jamesville High School and Martin Community College, where he obtained a degree in Electrical Sciences. These accomplishments reflected his dedication to learning and furthering his knowledge in his chosen field.
Russell will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Carol J. Price, his son Justin Kyle Price of Jamesville, NC, and step-daughter Aime L. Fountain (Reggie Fountain III) of Greenville, NC. He had a special bond with his brother in heart, James (Jimbo) Shiver (Danya) of Jamesville, NC. Russell was also a proud Pop-Pop to four amazing and brilliant grandchildren: William Richard Shavender IV (Veronica Krieger) of Fort Meade, Maryland, Summer L. Shavender of Washington, NC, Courtney L. Forehand (Keagan Fisher) of Greenville, NC, and Kyndal B. Fountain of Greenville, NC. His furry companions, Daisy, Duke, and Beau, were cherished members of his family.
In honoring Russell's wishes, no formal services will be held. The family will casually receive visitors at home until Sunday, July 16, 2023. This informal gathering reflects Russell's laid-back nature and his preference for simplicity.
The Price family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. David Lewis, the Marion Shepard Cancer Center, and Gentiva Hospice for their unwavering support and guidance throughout this challenging journey.
Russell will forever be remembered for his kind heart, his unwavering determination, and the love he shared with those closest to him. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
Joseph B. Paul Jr. Funeral Service is honored to serve the Price family.
