Vera Kay Blandford, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, peacefully passed away on September 9, 2023, at the age of 80. She was born on January 29, 1943, in Tyrrell County, North Carolina, and her passing occurred in Vanceboro, North Carolina. She is preceded in death by her mother, Lora Williams and father, Romlus Williams.
Vera was a woman of simple pleasures and cherished the time spent with her loved ones. She had an unwavering love for animals and found joy in caring for them. Vera also enjoyed watching movies. Her faith played a significant role in her life, and she found solace in attending church regularly. Many will remember her delicious home-cooked meals and the warmth she brought to holiday gatherings with family and friends.
Vera is survived by her loving daughters, Linda Carter, Donna Elks, and Dorrie Foreman; her devoted sons, Kenneth Pollard and James Blandford; 18 grandchildren who brought immense joy to her life; and 26 great-grandchildren who were the light of her days.
Services to honor and remember Vera will be held on Tuesday, September 12, 2023. Visitation will take place from 12:00pm to 1:00pm, followed by a funeral service at 1:00pm at Joseph B. Paul Jr. Funeral Service, located at 4500 Hwy 264 E, Washington, NC. A graveside service will immediately follow the funeral.
