February 2, 1974 - July 30, 2023
Tamara
Tamara Nicole Williams, beloved by friends and family as Tammy, was born February 2, 1974 in Baltimore, MD to Carolyn Deans Pitts and the late Anthony Eugene Williams.

Tammy attended her school aged years at Saint Marks Catholic Academy in Catonsville, MD and graduated in 1992 from Western High School in Baltimore, MD.

Her career began at Johns Hopkins and Blue Cross/Blue Shield in insurance and medical coding. She lived and worked in Baltimore Maryland until she transplanted to Washington, NC in 2002. In Washington, Tammy continued her career as a customer service representative at Sprint. She went on to pursue new endeavors in Property Management with Mr. Wayne and Mr. Buddy. She ended her career at Wells Fargo in Dealer Services.

She attended St. John’s Disciples of Christ. Her favorite pastimes were swimming, cooking, watching Rosanne and cooking competitions on the Food Network.

Tammy’s compassion for her family and friends and their wellbeing was always a highlight of her personality. Her enjoyment of life included competing against cousins, family and friends in a friendly game of spades or dominoes. Her love of life, dedication to her daughter and parents exuded in her memorable smile that will live in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her father Anthony Eugene Williams, maternal grandparents Jesse & Emma Deans, and paternal grandparents John & Cora Williams. Tammy leaves to cherish her memories one daughter, Tyler Nichole Adams (fiancé Alexis Young) of Alexandria, VA; parents, Carolyn and Richard Pitts of Chocowinity, NC; lifelong friend and coparent, Kenneth Adams of Baltimore, MD; aunts Edna Woodward of Newark, NJ; Evelyn Deans Mayfield of Grimesland, NC, Daisy Beatrice Deans of Washington, NC, and Brenda Senter-Deans of Plymouth, NC and a host of loving, caring, and mischievous cousins and friends.

Tammy’s life portends as her Uncle Aaron quoted to family, friends, and acquaintances:
“It reminds us that life is fleeting, and love, togetherness, compassion, and forgiveness are best practiced today as if today was our last day.”

A Celebration of Life Visitation Reception Service will be held Monday August 7, 2023 from 2:00pm-4:00pm at Joseph B. Paul Jr. Funeral Service, 4500 Hwy 264 E, Washington, NC.

OUR DEDICATION TO TAMMY

To Honor You

To honor you, I get up everyday and take a breath.
And start another day without you in it.

To honor you, I laugh and love with those who knew your smile
And the way your eyes twinkled with mischief and secret knowledge.

To honor you, I take the time to appreciate everyone I love,
I know now there is no guarantee of days or hours spent in their presence.

To honor you, I listen to music you would have liked,
And sing at the top of my lungs, with the windows rolled down.

To honor you, I take chances, say what I feel, hold nothing back,
Risk making a fool of myself, dance every dance.

You were my light, my heart, my gift of love, from the very highest source.
So everyday, I vow to make a difference, share a smile, live, laugh and love.

Now I live for us both, so all I do, I do to honor you.
Love,

Carolyn, Richard, and Tyler
