Talmage "T.O." Otto Cooper, age 87, passed away on October 13, 2023 at home surrounded by his family. Talmage was born on July 2, 1936 in Beaufort County the son of the late Clifton and Lyda Cooper. He was a 1954 graduate of Pantego High School. Talmage worked at Weyerhaeuser in Plymouth for 44 years. He served for many years as a firefighter and board member of the Pungo River Volunteer Fire Department. Talmage had a talent of being able to fix just about anything with his hands and in his earlier years he farmed the family farm. He loved his family and was always willing and wanted to give a helping hand.
On August 2, 1958 he married the LOVE of his LIFE Frances Ann Williams. They were blessed with 65 years together. One of the family values was he attended church his whole life and was a member of Union Grove Church of Christ.
Surviving are his wife: Frances W. Cooper, children: Shelton Talmage Cooper (Debra) and Terry Lee Cooper, grandchildren: Crystal Everett (Rumley), Lauren Blount (Garry), Nicholas Cooper (Coral), Jeremy Cooper (Madison), Maranda Cooper (Quajuan Hall), Grace Davis (Desmond), a very special third grandson: Angus Spencer and great-grandchildren: Trey Moore, Brailey Everett, Kirk Blount, Ryder Cooper, Tripp Everett, Briar Cooper and Colin Blount.
Along with his parents Talmage was preceded in death by a great granddaughter: Lilly Faith Everett, brothers: C.B. Cooper, Shelton Thomas Cooper and sister: Thelma Joyce Cooper.
The family would like to thank Community Home Care & Hospice and all the care givers that has helped lighten the load over the years.
Memorial Services will be held 5:00pm Sunday October 15, 2023 at Union Grove Church of Christ.
