Rita Faye Wilkerson age 63 a resident of Chocowinity, NC passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday June 9, 2020 at her home.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, June 13, 2020 at Washington Assembly of God officiated by Pastor Daniel Haskett. Burial will follow in the Buck/Hill Cemetery in Blounts Creek. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 AM until the service hour.
She lived her life for her family, friends and her dogs. She had a giving heart and would do for anyone she could, Rita will be deeply missed by everyone that knew her. Rita was born in Beaufort County on March 20, 1957 daughter of the late John Washington Buck, Jr. and the late Mary Elizabeth Galloway Buck. Rita had three beautiful children with her first marriage to Mark Elzey of Bath, NC and then gained a beautiful stepdaughter Dawn with her second marriage to Mike Wilkerson of Virginia with whom she was a devoted Navy wife for many years. In her spare time she enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles and taking care of her furbabies.
Rita is survived by three children from her first marriage to Mark Elzey: Chasity Elzey (Charlie), Jonathan Elzey ll (Angie), Patrick Elzey (Jennifer), and a stepdaughter from her second marriage to Mike Wilkerson: Dawn Weiss (Rick); her grandchildren: Carissa, Nick,Krista, Jon lll, Jacob, Jeremiah, Ryan, Wyatt, Demel, Shaine and Lily; her great grandchildren: Kinleigh and John; her brother: William Buck (Candy) and sister: Tina Buck Hardee (Roy) and numerous nieces and nephews: her furbabies Bullet and Sarge all of whom she loved and touched deeply. Rita was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers: John W. Buck lll and Wade Buck.
