Richard "Rebel" M. Banks of 548 Hodges Road, Chocowinity, NC died Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at his home.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Washington Assembly of God officiated by Pastor David Linton. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 PM until the service hour at the church.
Honorary pallbearers are Chris Godwin, Johnny Windley, Brian Ange, Allen Vice, Christopher Willobough, Nut Nun, Lee Brown and Hunter Rangers.
Richard was born in Newport News, Virginia on February 16, 1967 the son of the late Betsy Dixon Banks and Jack Mack Banks who survives. He worked as an industrial crane operator until his failing health wouldn't allow. Richard enjoyed riding his motorcycle, helping people no matter what they needed he would be there for them. He had a heart of gold which could be seen by the many friends he had, but most of all he loved life, his family and enjoyed entertaining the many friends he had. Richard always made sure there were no dull moments when he was with friends and family. His friends and family will miss him greatly.
Survivors include his wife: Gwen Banks of the home, father Jack Mack Banks of Washington, NC; two daughters: Nicole Leslie Banks of Connecticut; Heather Dawn Banks of Bath, NC; sister: Susan Woolard of Pinetown, NC; three granddaughters: Candace, Sydney and Summer and two stepsons: Hunter and Austin Harvey.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Gwen Banks to help her with expenses incurred during Richard,s illness c/o 548 Hodges Road, Chocowinity, NC 27817
