Peggy Rouse, 79, a resident of Washington, NC passed away at her home Sunday, August 14, 2022.

Friends and family will visit at her home at 203 East Sixth Street in Washington, NC, on Friday August 19, 2022 at 7:00pm. A graveside service will be held at Oakdale cemetery in Washington, NC on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at 2:00pm, officiated by Greg Ramsey.

Peggy was born to the late Leland Baker and Annie Harris Baker on November 10, 1942.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Asa Bryant Rouse; a son: James Rouse; three sisters: Rachael Bridgeman, Betty Jean Nanney, Eva Mae Moore; and two brothers: Joseph and James Baker.

Peggy is survived by a son: Neal Rouse and wife Gayle, a brother: Leland Baker Jr.; a daughter-in-law: Sylvia Rouse; seven grandsons: Lukas Horne, Ethan Rouse, Daniel Rouse, Matthew Rouse, Brandon Rouse, Jordan Rouse, Cody Lee; a granddaughter: Katelan Rouse; seven great-grandsons: Kysin Moore, Connor Thompson, Jared Thompson, Jacob Rouse, Axel Rouse, Logan Wiechel, Emmanuel Rogers; and four great-granddaughters: Alexis Rogers, and Sydnie, Zoe, and Emma Rouse, and the former daughter-in-law as well as a loving mother: Kim Watson Webb.

    Mom, I can’t believe u are gone. I miss u so much. When my phone rings I look to see if it’s u. U were the best mother/grandmother/great grandmother I could have ever asked for.
