Melvin Gray Gibbs lll age 34, a resident of 324 E. 11th Street Washington died Saturday March 3, 2018.
A memorial service will be held 4:00 PM Saturday March10, 2018 at Alligood Church of God officiated by Craig Godley. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the church.

Melvin was born in Beaufort County on June 16, 1983 the son of Melvin Gray Gibbs Jr. and Virgie Jarvis Elks. He was a hard working caring person who always loved helping people as much as he could. Melvin enjoyed hunting, fishing and loved to cook. He enjoyed getting out on occasions and spending time doing things with his family, especially going to the beach. Melvin loved being a husband to Roxanne and a stepfather to her children always treating them as his own. He loved to make people laugh and it wasn't unusual they would laugh to they cried. Melvin will be greatly missed by his family and all that knew him.
He is survived by his wife: Roxanne Elaine Gibbs of the home, his father: Melvin Gray Gibbs Jr. and wife Gay of Pinetown, NC; his mother: Virgie Jarvis Elks and husband Ervin of Belhaven, NC; brother: Jerremiah Scott Gibbs of Goldsboro, NC; step brother: Aaron Pierce of Raleigh, NC; three step sisters: Kim Slade and husband Gerritt of Cape Cod, MA; Andrea Crisp and husband Richard of Pendleton, NC; Elizabeth Donahue and husband Jamey of Washington, NC; and his step children: Kara and Dale Cherry.
