Margaret A. Midyette was born June 20, 1931 in Bath, NC to William Augustus & Bonnie Adams and peacefully passed away on March 3, 2024 at the age of 92. A beloved wife, mother, and friend, has departed this world, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. She dedicated her life to caring for her family with devotion, finding joy in everyday moments and creating warm, welcoming spaces for those she loved the most.

Margaret is survived by two sons, William “Byron” Midyette III and Timothy A. Midyette (Susan Meeks); granddaughters Megan, Margot, Emily and great-granddaughter Madalyn. She is also survived by her brother A.A. “Dick” Adams and wife Diane, sister Becky Tuten, niece Tracy Adams, and nephews Walt Tuten and wife Celia, Jeff Tuten and wife Tracey. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, WB “Bill” Midyette, Jr., her parents, and a sister, Fannie Joyce Moore. Also preceded in death are brothers-in-law, Ray Tuten & Billy Moore as well as nephew, Richard Adams and niece, Trisha Brown.

Gardening, sharing the fruits of her labor and entertaining were her passions. Reading (until her sight faded) and quoting snippets of poetry came as a close second. She loved cooking and her sweet tooth led her to lots of baking, which she shared with her family at weekly Sunday lunches. She was a member of Olde Towne Book Club, The Historic Bath Garden Club, and The Study Group. Her love of travel carried her many places in the world.

The family will receive visitors at Joseph B. Paul Jr. Funeral Service on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

A memorial service will take place on Thursday, March 7, 2024 at 11:00 am at Joseph B. Paul Jr. Funeral Service in Washington, officiated by David Mason.

As a lifelong member of the Bath Christian Church, donations may be made in her memory by clicking here or flowers are welcome.
