Lou Poore Hollowell, 89, of Morehead City formerly of Washington and Aurora passed away on Wednesday March 8, 2023 at HomePlace of New Bern of New Bern, NC



Lou was born on February 1, 1934 in Washington, North Carolina, preceded in death by her husband Joseph Lee Hollowell; Father: Fred L. Poore, Sr. and Mother: Edna Swindell Poore; Sister: Sue P. Mobley; and brothers: Dr. Lawrence Poore and Fred H. Poore.



Survived by her daughter: Sally Burke and husband Ken Dean of Morehead City, North Carolina; son: Clifton E. Williams Jr. and wife Kathleen of Aurora, North Carolina; and daughter: Christy W. McBryde and husband Van of Kinston, North Carolina.

Two granddaughters: Stacy Rowe Brooks and husband Milton, Lauren McBryde Robertson and husband Tom.

Four grandsons: Christopher Ryan Williams and wife Carly, Dr. Michael Sean Williams and wife Natasha, Wilson Hunter McBryde and wife Nicole and Patrick Blake Williams.

Six great-granddaughters: Alexis Brooks, Lucy Gray, Madison McBryde, Lila Jo Williams, Tessa Robertson, and Teagan Williams.

Six great-grandsons: Bryson Brooks, Tucker Williams, Hunter McBryde, Bodie Williams, Camden Williams, James Robertson.



A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 10, 2023 at Joseph B. Paul Jr. Funeral Service Chapel located at 4500 Hwy 264 E. Washington, NC at 1:00pm. The family will receive guests prior at 12:00pm till the funeral hour.

    Our heartfelt condolences to the Hollowell, Williams, Poore, Swindell, Mobley, Carswell, Thigpen, and all the family’s and friends of such a great lady. I knew Lou well, as she was the sister of my Aunt Sue Mobley and a sister of my good friend Larry Poore of Washington, NC, and 1st cousin of my good friend, Marion Cobb, Sue and Larry, who also recently passed in Jan and Marion&Larry, several yrs ago welcome ber to her heavenly assignment. We celebrate a life well lived today and pray peace of God for the entire family.
