Lona Mills Armstrong, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on October 26, 2023, at the age of 86. She was born on July 6, 1937, in Beaufort, NC, to Albert Mills and Anne Marie Ipock.
Lona dedicated many years of her life as a seamstress at Sampson Shirt Factory. Outside of work, she found joy in spending time with her husband, the love of her life, as they went fishing together. Lona cherished her family dearly, and her special dog Baby held a special place in her heart. She also enjoyed solving puzzles, finding satisfaction in the challenge they presented.
Lona is preceded in death by her loving husband, James Earl Armstrong, as well as her father, Albert Mills, and mother, Anne Marie Ipock. She leaves behind a legacy of love and memories that will be forever treasured by her surviving family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Williams, and her sons, Michael Keith Schwartz, Fred Williams Schwartz, and Fonzie Schwartz. Lona was also a proud grandmother to Ashley Cartwright, Aaron Crisp, Gregory Crisp, Jonathan Schwartz, and Alysha Crisp.
