Lindsay Wayne Sikes Sr., age 78, a resident of Washington NC, died Monday morning, April 20, 2020 at home surrounded by family.
A graveside service will be held for family at 3:00 pm Wednesday, April 22, 2020 at the Walker Family Cemetery on Slatestone Road. Due to regulations of the Covid-19 Virus this will be a private family service. All friends are asked to offer their condolences to the family per our website www.josephpaulfdl.com
Lindsay was born in Beaufort County January 16, 1942 the son of the late Leroy Sikes and Audrey Alligood Sikes of Bath. He was one of six children. Lindsay was a graduate of Bath High School, class of 1961. He married Sandra Walker in 1961 and moved to Maryland to work for his older brother, Earl Sikes. Lindsay worked in the construction business for over 30 years. He had 4 children and lived in Maryland until 1998. Lindsay and Sandra moved back to North Carolina after he retired to be closer to family. He loved fishing, gardening and was a great father, Pop Pop, and friend to so many.
Lindsay is survived by his wife: Sandra Sikes; son: Lindsay "Wayne" Sikes Jr.; daughter: Adele Ange and husband George; grandchildren: Michelle Sikes, Ryan Ange, Faith Ange and Kimberly Sudlow; Brother Earl Sikes; sister: Marie Welch; along with other nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Audrey Leigh Boyd; brother David Sikes; brother Allen Sikes; daughter Dorothy "Hope" Sikes and daughter Crystal Sikes.
