Kristofer "Kris" Koley Selby, age 40, a resident of Bath, NC died Monday March 14, 2022.
A memorial service will be held 3:00, Sunday, March 2022 at Pinetown Missionary Baptist Church, 263 Long Ridge Road, Pinetown with Rev Greg Bell officiating.
He is survived by his mother: Michele Selby of Bath, NC; his father: Howard Selby of Pinetown, NC; one son: Neil Ryan, one sister: Shanita Moore of Ayden, NC; one brother: Robert Koonce of Glouchester, NC; two uncles: Wilber Chauncey and Wallace Selby, three aunts: Lisa Goddard, Yvonne Waters, and Cori Fritz.
Kris was extremely close to his grandparents whom he called Dede and Wewe and his Grandma Joyce. His pride and joy were his son, Neil, and would spoil him rotten whenever possible. He loved deeply and was loved in return.
He enjoyed gaming to relax and clear his mind and often played against others online. He passed this obsession on to his son.
He was an excellent carpenter, learning from his dad, extending the family legacy to four generations. Also, an accomplished iron worker and welder, he loved working with his hands. He enjoyed traveling out west and to New England and up and down the East coast for work.
As a child, he loved playing youth baseball and football and enjoyed this time with friends. He was very creative and not only could design and remodel a home,but could often be found sketching and writing. He was impetuous, funny, annoying at times and maybe a bit of nag, but in the midst of these behaviors, he would often stop, look at you, grin, and say "I love you".
He was attached to his dog, Daisy, as she was to him, and was seldom seen without her.
"I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. 26 And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die." John 11:25-26
