Joyce Beacham Hales, a resident of Ayden, NC passed away at her home surrounded by family and friends on Wednesday, February 23.
She was outgoing, with a big family and a big heart. She had a quick-tongue and was not afraid to use it to speak her mind. She was straightforward and didn't mince words. Joyce was like a mother to everyone and the word "stranger" was never a part of her vocabulary.
She was born July 12, 1940 to the late Jack and Dollie Beacham.
She is survived by a significant other of more than three decades: Clinton McLawhorn; three sons: Robert, Wilbert, and Michael Chauncey; a daughter: Michelle Selby; and a sister: Rita Elks.
