Johnny Floyd Whitaker age 73, a resident of 2191 Jack Roberson Road, Williamston, NC passed Sunday, December 9, 2018 at his home surrounded by family.
Funeral services will be held at 6:30 PM Thursday, December 13, 2918 at Life Builders Church of God officiated by Pastor Jonathon Knox and Pastor Chris Watkins. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 5:00 until the service hour at the church and other times at the home.
Johnny was born on March 6, 1945 in Norfolk, Virginia the son of the late Hubert Whitaker and Patty Nicholson Whitaker. He married Peggy Ann Whitaker who survives. Johnny enjoyed mowing and keeping his yard looking its best. He loved his truck and as his yard kept it spotless. Johnny loved nature and all animals as could be seen by his closeness with his dog "Dozer". He was a person who had a heart of gold and never meet a stranger, he had many friends and had great times at the river hanging out with his best friend Tony. Most of all he loved his family and was like a father and especially close to his grandson Brent. Johnny will be greatly missed by his family and all that knew him.
Along with his wife: Peggy Whitaker of the home, he is survived by a daughter: Amy W. Rogerson of Williamston, NC; grandson: Brent Rogerson of Williamston, NC; two sisters and a brother.
