John David Daniels age 76, a resident of 286 Wrights Creek Road, Belhaven, NC died Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at River Trace Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Washington.
A memorial service will be held 7:00 PM Saturday, April 27, 2019 at Washington Assembly of God officiated by Pastor Ron Bousquet. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 6:00 PM until the service hour. Honorary pallbearers are Clay Chauncey, Chris Hopkins, Dwayne Hopkins, Murphy Hopkins, Jr., Travis Tate, and Johnny's nephews: Greg Crisp, Jimmy Daniels, Jason Daniels, Jamie "Bumper" Daniels, Jim Daniels, and Billy Daniels.
Johnny was born on February 28, 1943 in Beaufort County the son of the late Jamie Medford Daniels and Dorothy Tate Daniels who survives. He worked 15 years with Interstate Oil Transport as a deckhand. After his time with Interstate, he worked with his father building and repairing nets at Daniels Net Shop and commercial fished. Johnny loved to socialize and especially enjoyed shagging and spending time with family. Johnny was his mother's devoted in-home caregiver for many years.
Along with his mother: Dorothy Tate Daniels he is survived by a son: David Eshelman of California; a sister: Loretta Edwards and husband Ricky of Mt. Olive, NC; brother: Charles C. Daniels and wife Patricia of Washington, NC.and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two: brothers: Howard Daniels and Jimmy Daniels
