John C. Alligood age 84, a resident of Washington, NC died at his home on Sunday, June 10, 2018.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM Thursday, June 14, 2018 at Graceway Pentecostal Holiness Church officiated by Rev. Linwood Lewis.
Visitation will be prior to the service from 11:00 AM until the service hour at the church..Burial will follow at the Lee Cemetery. at 3:00 PM.
John was born in Beaufort County on November 29, 1933 the son of the late Elijah Alligood and Naomi Ruth Lee Alligood. There were many happy memories of his childhood. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and was a member of the local DAV. John was a pilot and enjoyed flying, he was an accomplished builder and loved interior decorating, but
in John's words his greatest life changing event was fully turning his life over to Jesus. He saw life and people differently and was a cherished member of Graceway Pentecostal Holiness Church, where his Graceway family was very special to him. John especially loved and appreciated his young "helpers" Tracy, Sara, DJ, Teona and Taylor Rae for their thoughtfulness and caring compassion.
