Yes he was funny and he was a good friend but he was a bratty kid, spoiled by us all .but he could do no wrong in our eyes. Jackie and Carlie were like the two sides of my heart. Jackie even named his first kid after Carlie. There are no memories without Jackie in them.. He was given a huge burden at just 7 years old when he was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes. Something that would break most adults .,but he never let it define him or slow him down. He never used it as an excuse or pity. But we knew how lucky we were that he was as healthy and happy as he was with this. It made him even more precious to all of us. He was so protective of my girls and always took time for them. I have never been with Jackie that he didn't tell me he loved me. Not once.
I have never felt this loss before and god knows I wish I could take it from Margaret. And I don't know what my world will be like without Jackie Buck in it , but I do know what it was like when he was in it. It was laughter and play and love. Pure unconditional love
