Hannis Stephen (Steve) Braddy, 77, a resident of Blounts Creek, NC passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at his home surrounded by family.
Visitation will be 6:00 pm Thursday, September 29, 2022 at Woodard’s Pond Church of Christ.
He was born in Beaufort County on January 16, 1945 the son of the late Hannis P. Braddy and Mamie Cox Braddy.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death a brother: Hannis Pembrook Braddy, Jr.
Hannis is survived by his wife: Marilyn Maki Braddy; three sons: Christopher Allen Braddy, of Blounts Creek, NC; Eric Stephen Braddy and wife Gwen of Vanceboro, NC; Jeremy Scott Braddy and wife Taylor of Beaufort, NC; a brother: John Bonner Braddy and wife Peggy; a sister: Sally Johnston, two granddaughters: Zoey and Adalyn Braddy and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Hannis was married to his wife: Marilyn for 52 happy years. He also loved his children and grandchildren. Hannis loved being on the water both recreationally and commercially and also had a love for hunting. He loved his Church and was appointed as a Deacon at Woodard’s Pond Church of Christ. He was a very social person and would talk to anyone easily making new friends. Hannis graduated from Bath High School after graduating Hannis became a welding apprentice and was hired on as a worker at the Newport News Shipyard where he worked for nearly a decade. He moved on from there and spent the rest of his days at PCS Phosphate in Aurora from which he retired.
