Freda Williams Whichard
Freda Williams Whichard age 74, a resident of Wilmar, NC died Thursday, August 30, 2018 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, NC.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, September, 3, 2018 at Haw Branch Church of Christ Cemetery officiated by Pastor D.J. Maxey.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 AM until the service hour in the Family Life Center at Haw Branch Church.
Mrs. Whichard was born in Beaufort County on September 5, 1943 the daughter of the late Henry Day Williams and Ora Mae Cash Williams. Freda was a woman of many talents. She loved to garden,cook, sew, and sing praises to the Lord. Freda was known as the "collard queen" at church homecomings.She used her talents to help others and loved to sing with her family and friends for the Lord. When her grandchildren came along she helped raise all four in any way she could. The girls were the apple of her eye. She loved to be called "Grannie" and gleamed with pride when she spoke to anyone about "her girls".
Survivors include her husband: Mitchell Kent Whichard of Wilmar, NC; two daughters: Tina Collene Paramore and husband Stan of Wilmar, NC; Denise Whichard Hodges and husband Mickey of Wilmar, NC; a son: Henry Edward Garris of Wilmar, NC; a sister: Brenda McLawhorn Elks of Wilmar, NC and four granddaughters: Macy Elizabeth Paramore, Hannah Beth Paramore, Valarie Beth Hodges and Laura Grace Hodges. She was preceded in death by two sisters: Edna Mae Anderson and Anita Williams Edwards and her brother: Willis Ray Williams.
