Francis Ellsworth Whitley, Jr.
Francis Ellsworth Whitley, Jr. a resident of 408 Washington Street, Plymouth, NC died at his home Monday, April 16, 2018 surrounded by his family.
The family will have a private memorial service at a later date.
Mr. Whitley was born on June 8, 1939 in Norfolk, Virginia the son of the late Francis Ellsworth Whitley and Minnie Clara Green Whitley. He was a long distance truck driver which he did for over 40 years. Francis enjoyed dancing, music and played a number of instruments including guitar, piano and drums. He loved his family and especially enjoyed the time he spent with his grandchildren.He is survived by four children: Greg Whitley of Plymouth, NC; Steven Whitley of Norfolk, Virginia; Shelby Jo Whitley of Virginia Beach, Virginia; Tracey Ward of Athens Tennessee; two step-daughters; five sisters; eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers..
