Doris Porter Bright, 84, a resident of Chocowinity, passed away on Friday September 25, 2020.
She was born on July 17, 1936 to the late William Henry Porter and Lucy Carson Porter, attended Haw Branch Church of Christ and married the dearly departed Willie Earl Bright, on September 6, 1951.
Doris was a farmer's wife whom worked hard in their garden and was a master of country cooking. Doris always had her little dog by her side while watching basketball games on TV and when sitting taking in the view from her kitchen window. She loved looking at her flowers and adored the color pink.
Doris is survived by her daughters, Carol Woolard, Gloria Vick, and Brenda Coward (Danny). Her brother David Ray Porter, sister Audrey Porter Cherry, Grandchildren Julia Edwards, Stephanie Clark, Shanna Campbell (James), and Michael Woolard. Four great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Doris is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son Michael Earl Bright, and her daughter Earlene Bright.
