Destinee Knicole Wright quietly slipped away on Monday, February 13, 2023 at ECU Health Beaufort Hospital after a courageous battle with Lupus complicated by Guillain-Barré Syndrome.
A visitation will be held at Joseph B. Paul Jr. Funeral Service on Saturday, February, 18 at 1:30pm with the service following immediately at 3:00pm.
Destinee was born On December 30, 1992 in New Bern, NC to Jerald and Tina Wright. She graduated from Southside High School in Chocowinity, NC in 2011, and went on to an undergrad program at St. Augustine’s University in Raleigh, NC, studying Political Science.
Preferring the languid pace of country life, she moved back home from Raleigh with a tattoo to celebrate. It said “Country Girl”. She loved life and lived fully and passionately until her health declined.
She enjoyed being outdoors and thrived under the calmness of mother nature. She liked cooking and watching shows about cooking, and while she still could, she made art and played cards.
She had an uncanny ability to look past people’s veneer, reaching deeply to really hit them where they lived, affecting them in a warm and positive manner.
She will be remembered by her parents, her beloved sister Trenaty; her brother Brandon; her grandmother Arine Broadie; her grandfather George Purvis, a niece Keyonna, nephew Bryson Wilson, and a whole host of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and the rest of the extended family.
Joseph B. Paul Jr. Funeral Service is honored to serve the Wright Family.
