Cindy Leigh Muse Asby, a vibrant soul who brought laughter and joy to everyone around her, passed away on October 6, 2023, in her hometown of Washington, NC. Born on July 28, 1958, Cindy lived a life filled with adventure and unforgettable moments. She was 65 years old at the time of her passing.
Cindy's professional journey led her to work as a Shipping Coordinator, where she showcased her organizational skills and ability to keep things running smoothly. But it was in her personal life that Cindy truly thrived. She loved laughing, and creating wonderful memories with her cherished friends and family.
In her lifetime, Cindy experienced both profound loss and immeasurable love. She was preceded in death by her father, Clyde Muse, and her husband of twenty years, Billy Asby. She also mourned the loss of her daughter, Sydney Sare, her son, Billy Asby III, and her son-in-law, Jerry Sare. Though their absence left a void in her heart, Cindy found solace in the enduring bond she shared with her surviving loved ones.
Cindy's mother, Shelby Muse, and her daughter, Lesley Woolard (Gerald), remained pillars of strength throughout her life. She also leaves behind five grandchildren: Mary Polet (Steven), Billy Sare (Miia), Kain Asby, Noah Woolard, and Miah Woolard. Additionally, Cindy was blessed with four great-grandchildren, nurturing the future generations with her love and wisdom.
Family was everything to Cindy, and she cherished her relationships with her sisters: Debbie Powell, Karen Tyson (David), and Kim Grissom (Herman). Her brother, Bryan Muse (Sue), was always there to lend a helping hand. She adored her six nieces and nephews, who held a special place in her heart.
A celebration of Cindy's life will be held at Joseph B. Paul Jr. Funeral Service on Wednesday, October 11, with visitation starting at 4:00 pm, followed immediately by a memorial service at 5:00pm, at the same location. This gathering will be an opportunity for family and friends to share stories, laughter, and tears as they honor the vivacious spirit that Cindy brought into the world.
Cindy may have left this earthly realm, but her infectious laughter and zest for life will forever echo in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know her. May her memory continue to bring smiles and warmth to all who remember her.
