Charlie Wilson Squires age 85, formerly of 2998 Ephesus Church Road, Blounts Creek, NC died Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Ridgewood Manor Nursing Home in Washington, NC.
The family will receive friends at the home of Dale and Michael Edwards located at 2998 Ephesus Church Road, Blounts Creek, NC.
A private service will be held at a later date.
Mr. Squires was born on February 2, 1932 the son of the late Richard Wilson Squires and Ercel Mae Jones Squires. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II. Charlie worked with Everett Trucking in Washington, NC for 15 years. Whenever he could he enjoyed fishing, playing bingo and he especially loved to read.
Mr. Squires is survived by two sons: John Squires and Charlie Richard Squires both of Virginia; two daughters: Bebe Squires of Virginia and Laurie Hassell of Washington, NC; his special nieces Dale B. Edwards and husband Michael, their two children: Miracle and Hunter Edwards whom were like his grandchildren all of Blounts Creek, NC; Cindy McRaith and husband Tim of Houston, Texas and Sissy Berry of Ayden, NC. Mr. Squires had numerous grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four sisters: Lossie Squires, Becky Wheeler, Shirley Sauls and Eloise Berry.
