Cathy Hayek, 57, a resident of Roper, NC passed away on Sunday December 10, 2023.

Beloved Wife, Mother, Daughter and Sister.
Your hands were firm, yet they were soft. They comforted me, and countless others as a nurse and friend, more than anything I have ever known.
You were down to earth, yet eclectic, we danced in our living room any hour, day or night.
Your favorite color was green, but you loved all people and living creatures of any color, shape, or size.
Your favorite songs were "Down to the River to Pray", and "Jesus Take the Wheel", but you enjoyed literally any kind of music.
Cathy my love, you're not here anymore, but you will live in our hearts forever and a day.

Services at this time are incomplete.

Cathy is survived by her husband, Craig Steven Hayek, father, Larry Mitchell Price, mother, Betty Marie Price.

Joseph B. Paul Jr. Funeral Service is honored to serve the Hayek family.

    Craig Hayek says:
Happy Birthday my love. I still wait for the phone to ring and you tell me to come pick you up, hoping this is all one bad dream. I remember only a few times, and you mentioned it so quietly, that someday you wanted to have diamond earrings. We were in the jewelry store getting some rings re-sized, and I decided on my own that this was the time. I said "Cathy now is the time to get you those earrings". You were thrilled, it took you a while to realize we were not walking out with the ones that were perfect for you. We picked out beautiful diamonds one for each ear, they sparkled so much, you never took them off. You were so proud, you were so happy, but not half as proud and happy as I was to have you on my arm as my wife. I will try to post the photo of you with your new earrings. I also want to post the one of our engagement when were at the Food Lion. I love you so much Cathy. I wish I was with you, if only I could. Happy Birthday my love. We were bonded long before we ever met. Yours forever and a day. Craig.

    Pamela says:
This is a hard post for me to write. On December 10th my beloved sister, Cathy Lynn joined loved ones on the other side of this world. We have struggled on how to proceed because Cathy would absolutely hate anything being posted on the internet. She would hate a service of any kind. Cathy refused to attend anymore after the death of her first husband, John. Cathy is survived by her beautiful daughter, Elizabeth (Lizz Marie Blanchard), her devoted son in law, Chris, her parents, Larry and Betty Price, her sister Pamela Price Tadlock, her beloved brother in law, Lynn Tadlock, and her adored nieces, Emily Lynn, Hunter Millard and Elena Lynn, and two nephews T.C. Millard and Jim Bertolino. If you wish to send condolences to my parents message me and I will send you their address. Cathy would not want flowers. Cathy was selfless when it came to others so during this time if you would do something special for a nurse like coffee or a spa day. She always worried about her patients so do something special at a nursing home or donate to the Ronald McDonald house in her name or donate to the national kidney foundation or do something special for a kidney dialysis patient. Cathy was proud of being a nurse!

    Hunter Millard says:
She also has a daughter Elizabeth Blanchard and her husband Chris Blanchard. Her sister Pamela Price Tadlock with her husband David Lynn Tadlock. Niece Hunter Tadlock Millard with her husband Thomas Millard. Niece Emily Lynn Tadlock with great niece Elena Lynn Bertolino. She had other family that loved her dearly and will miss her greatly. I’m so glad she’s not in pain anymore and can be her true self again!

I’m glad my mother is no longer in pain and is finally free with god. She was a wonderful and strong woman. Those that know her well knew she had a big love for her family. You will be missed mom. Your daughter, Elizabeth
