Calvin Edison Cornelius, Jr. age 54 a resident of Greenville, NC died Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, NC.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 PM Saturday, February 16, 2019 at the Falkland Church of God officiated by Pastor Gordon Braxton and Pastor Michael Bryant.
Calvin was born in Beaufort County on May 14, 1964 the son of the late Calvin Edison Cornelius, Sr. and Ellen Ambrose Cornelius who survives.
He was married to Patti Burton Cornelius. Calvin worked with the Greenville Daily Reflector Newspaper until his health wouldn't allow him to continue. He was a member of the Falkland Church of God where he loved his church and church family. Calvin enjoyed camping at many different KOA campgrounds with his family through the years and was known as "Big Bear" by his children. When it came to sports he loved his Carolina Tar Heels as could be seen by his many UNC collectibles, he also liked the Carolina Panthers when came to the NFL. Calvin will be greatly missed by his family and all that knew him.
Along with his mother: Ellen Ambrose Cornelius of Bath, NC; he is survived by his wife: Patti Cornelius of Greenville, NC; two daughters:Tiffany Cornelius of Washington, NC; Staci Cornelius of Chocowinity, NC; a son: William Blake Grimes of Greenville, NC; two stepsons: Michael Allen Grimes of Greenville, NC; William Thomas Grimes of Ohio; two brothers: Ernie Cornelius and wife Jennifer of Bath, NC; Ethan Cornelius and wife Susan of Morganton, NC and two grandchildren: Christopher and Skyler Cornelius. He was preceded in death by a brother: Chris Cornelius.
