Betsy Moore Gaskins age 89, a resident of Chocowinity, NC died Saturday, July 11, 2020.
A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at Oakdale Cemetery in Washington officiated by Ward Sullivan and Todd McMillen. Pallbearers are Joel Edwards, Josh Gaskins, Zach Langley, Johnny Sullivan, Macon Sullivan, Bryan Lilley, Jonathan Pennypacker and Nathan Pennypacker.
Mrs. Gaskins was born in Beaufort County on November 26, 1930 the daughter of the late William McKinley Moore and Lydia Hill Moore. She married Elbert Brown Gaskins on the 25th of October 1947 who preceded her in death July 19, 2019. Mrs. Gaskins was a homemaker her entire life, and along with her husband Elbert raised their children with the upmost love and provided all the support they needed to be a strong family. She was a member of Union Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.
Mrs. Gaskins is survived by two daughters: Kathy Sullivan and husband Ward of Chocowinity, NC; Kay Edwards and husband Jerry of Vanceboro, NC; a son: Kenny Gaskins and wife Crystal of Chocowinity, NC; eleven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren.
