Bernice R. James age 85, passed away on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, NC.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at the James Cemetery located on Lightwood Bridge Road in the Cypress Creek area. The family will receive friends at the homes of her children and immediately following the service.
Mrs. James was born on March 15, 1933 in Pender County, the daughter of the late J.C. Rivenbark and Marie Wells Rivenbark. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sisters: Nettie Marie Rivenbark Wells, Polly Eubanks and brother: James Carroll Rivenbark. She is survived by her daughter: Ann James Tripp of Grifton, NC; her son: Ernie Ray James of Wallace, NC; three grandchildren: Kimberlea Tripp Vick (Thomas), Michelle Bell (Billy), Ernie James Jr. (Ann) and seven great-grandchildren: Elin Grace Vick, Mila Faith Vick, Brady Daniels, Mason Bell, Bentley Bell, Haylen Watkins and Reagan James.
Mrs. James loved helping those in need, gardening, animals, and most importantly her family. She enjoyed a close relationship with God throughout her life. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends
