Barry Wayne Ormond, 71, a resident of Washington, NC, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2022 at ECU Health Beaufort.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at the First Free Will Baptist Church in Washington.
The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 10:00am until the service hour. And other times at the home of Lois Corey 209 East 7th Street, Washington NC.
Barry was born in Washington, NC on March 28, 1951, son of the late Benjamin Franklin Ormond and Nellie Credle Ormond.
He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing. Barry had a keen ear for music and loved playing guitar. He had a soft spot for animals. A people-person, he could be found outside the Dairy Palace holding court over a cup of coffee with his friends, of which he was not in short supply.
He is survived by his sister Lois O. Corey and husband Hardy Ray of Washington, NC; two nephews: Hardy Corey and wife Amy of Chocowinity, NC, Chris Corey and wife Michelle of Washington, NC; and four great-nieces and nephews.
