John Vernon Glenn, a resident of both Chocowinity, NC and Amelia Virginia, passed away October 31, 2021 at Vidant Hospital, Greenville, NC. He will be missed by his sons Jonathan Glenn, Christopher Glenn, and William "Michael" Glenn (Ashley); and their brother Anthony Griffin, as well as his former wife Melissa Glenn Griffin; his granddaughters Natalie Glenn, Ayla Glenn, and future grandchildren; his sisters Vicki Glenn, Yvonne "Babydoll" Brown (Jerry), Elizabeth "Anne" Hartley (Karlos), Donna Edwards (Earl, Jr), and Virginia "Gini" Garrison. He will also be missed by his numerous nieces and nephews as well as friends. John is preceded in death by his parents, Anita Smith Glenn and Richard Earl Glenn Sr., his brother, Richard Earl Glenn, Jr. and sister, Betsy [Susie] Hammon.
John had a wonderful sense of humor, personality, and he loved tremendously. He loved his Pittsburg Steelers, Nascar, and Grilling. Notably, he was exceptionally proud of his children and grandchildren! He held them close in his heart.
Services will be held in the new family cemetery at 170 Sandy Meadows Road, Chocowinity NC 27817. A family and friends gathering will be announced and held afterwards.
